P.A.W.S. is an enriching and exciting after-school program, which, offers extended school hours for working parents. The program is designed to shape our students academically, socially, physically, and culturally.

 

2017-2018 School Year: Start Date: September 8th, 2017

**Personal games/toys should not be brought to P.A.W.S. and are NOT our responsibility if lost, stolen or damaged!

 

The program is offered on school days, immediately following dismissal, ending at 6 pm.

 

The program is not offered on half days, or on days school is not in session.

 

If you would like to enroll your child in the program, please complete the application

 

Return the form with your $175.00 money order payable to PS 29 PAWS. If you are enrolling more than one child, each additional registrant fee is $150.00 a month.

 

Personal Checks are not accepted.  

 

Please be mindful when enrolling, the monthly fee is not prorated.

 

Upon submitting your application you will receive a letter, confirming that your payment and application have been received, as well as indicating the start date for your child.

 

Please be mindful that there is a required one day processing wait time, therefore children cannot participate in the program the same day they register.

 

Don't forget to send your child with a healthy snack, a water bottle, and the seasonally appropriate attire 

(sneakers, a warm coat, hat gloves, scarf, sunscreen, etc.)

Students can specialize in FILMDANCEINSTRUMENTAL M USICORCHESTRAL STRINGSTHEA TERVISUAL ARTS or VOCAL MUSI C. The program is designed for students at an intermediate or advanced le vel of study in their discipline. Summer Arts Institute offers a unique opportunity for students to work with DOE arts specialists, cultural organizations, and guest artists. This experienced team guides students in building a portfolio or audition skills for their next level of study: an arts-focused high school, college/university or conservatory.

The daily schedule includes studio work and experiences with professional artists. In the studios, students develop and improve their technical skills and creative expression in their art form. Time is dedicated to rehearsals, attending professional performances, visiting arts venues and exploring careers. The Institute culminates with an exhibition and performance showcasing the students’ work.

 Admission to the Summer Arts Institute is by application and audition. Students may apply and audition for only ONE studio.

2018 SUMMER ARTS INSTITUTE

 A FREE ARTS INTENSIVE FOR MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

 APPLICATION DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 5, 2018

Summer Arts Institute is a free, four-week arts program for New York City Department of Education public school students entering grades 8 through 12 in Fall 2018 (students currently in grades 7 through 11). This intensive program is held at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Astoria, Queens. Summer Arts Institute is administered by the NYCDOE’s Office of Arts and Special Projects.
